 A marmot is just my favorite rodent in the world! Yes, I said rodent!  Think cross between a beaver and a squirell? They do resemble groundhogs, but are NOT the same. In Canada they are called Whistle Pig; I briefly considered calling my company Whistle Pig Candles.

Just kidding, I never considered that. 

But Since they spend a majority of time underground, they are elusive little creatures. They thrive best above the 7000 feet elevation line,  can't tolerate heat above 70 degrees and can be found all over the northern hemisphere . 

Since I had the privilege to work in Yosemite National Park, i was able to see these little cuties more often than many, and that's why I fell in love with them.

When you recive your candle, you can be sure to enjoy many hours of enlighting ambience in your cave, but take care to follow these simple rules to get the most enjoyment out of your purchse.

1. Trim the wick, and use other fun tools to car for the wick and extend the life, such as a wick dipper! 

2. Don't burn for more than about 3-4 hours at a time.

3. Extinguish with a snuffer

4. Keep away from draft areas. 

5. Keep it away from children and pets:

6. Store Properly in a cool area.

It is also noteworthy to say tjhat the labels i use are made with a thermal printer which this works without ink - the special label paper reacts to the thermal activity to produce the images and text.  So you may notice the lables turning black.  YES, I said black.  Don't be alarmed.  It is another thermal paper/heat of jar reaction.  Feel free to remove the label and know we are working on lable-free candles in the furture.

At the moment, no. However, I will be working with the Asante Foundation and Children's Miracle Network to roll out the Candle-a-Day Campaign! September is National Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month and 100% of proceeds from the candle sales starting September 1, 2025 will go toward the Asante Pediatric Cancer Unit.
